Old Friends Are The Best Friends

No matter how much time goes by, its great to know you have your childhood friends by your side.

We grew up together. Shared our weddings together, the birth of our children, the loss of family members and at times we may lose our way but in the end we always find our way back to each other.

So very true. I have several childhood friends that I’m still in contact with and I believe “old” friendships are the best. New friendships are great, as well. I’m just a very social butterfly and I need my friends. Being so sick, a lot of my so-called friends act like I no longer exist. I know I’m a pain in the ass because you simply cannot rely on me because I have no control over how I’m going to feel from one day to the next, therefore to plan anything in advance causes me such anxiety because I’m afraid I’m going to let someone down, once again. But, I’m still okay in the friends department, I still have a lot of really good and true friends, friends that understand and don’t get mad at me if I have to cancel, again.; I am a good friend, though. I will give my last dollar to someone it they need it and I have it and I don’t every expect it back. I tell them to pay it forward because I know that it is so much easier for me to give than to receive. I hate being on the receiving end, but at least I know someone cares enough to help me with whatever I need, not just talking about money. Well, before I write a book, I’ll stop right here for now. I look forward to reading more of your posts. Until then, take care, my friend. I hope everything in your world is good.
    Peace out,

I know exactly what you mean when it comes to making plans. I’ve had to cancel so many engagements but I am very fortunate that my friends understand, what I’m going through. I do get anxiety when I respond yes to an event and then when the date gets closer, my mind starts to race. You have to remember there’s not much we can do… We can either make it or we cannot. Hopefully your friends do understand because there is nothing worse than feeling you’ve let someone down, when it’s not intentional. It’s just a way of life for us and we need to make the best out of a shitty situation. Hope all is good in your world, as well my friend.

It’s in these difficult times that we really learn who our true friends are. I’ve learned that when I make plans with anyone, I warn them that I really can’t confirm until the time comes. That’s the best I can do. I want to do everything, but unfortunately my body has plans of it’s own and doesn’t have the decency to warn me in advance. I know who my true friends are. It’s a shame it took me getting so sick to find out who my true friends really are. It was hurtful to find out that some of my friends that I considered to be some of my best friends, weren’t really my friends at all. It’s okay, though, because I have plenty of really, really good friends that really care about me and understand. That’s all that really matters, at the end of every day. Hope you had a great day, today.:)
